Remit Hope Named Official Team Relay Partner of the Victoria Falls Marathon, Introducing the “Remit Hope Team Relay”

Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe | 5 July 2026!

At one of Africa’s most iconic sporting events, a new kind of race narrative is taking shape.

Remit Hope is now the official partner behind the Team Relay, with the race taking on a new identity as the Remit Hope Team Relay, marking a new chapter for the event. Proudly sponsored by EcoCash, the Remit Hope Team Relay brings together Africa’s leading mobile money platform and innovative digital philanthropy to power community-led change.

This collaboration marks a symbolic and practical alignment between running and philanthropy. In a relay race, progress depends on passing the baton. With Remit Hope, that exchange now carries a deeper meaning: the passing on of hope. Remit Hope is a philanthropic digital platform that enables Africans, the diaspora, and global communities to support trusted, communitybased organisations across the continent. Built on a model where every contribution is matched, the platform is rooted in a simple idea: when we give together, impact multiplies.

Since its launch, Remit Hope has already demonstrated the power of collective giving, mobilizing over $240,000 across campaigns supporting orphaned children, vocational training, and children living with disabilities. Each contribution is matched, turning individual acts of giving into sustained, measurable impact and reinforcing the belief that when communities come together, progress accelerates.

Each year, billions of dollars are sent back home into Africa, quietly sustaining families and strengthening communities. As Tsitsi Masiyiwa, Founder of Remit Hope, reflects, “It’s not just money; it’s hope, it’s survival, it’s a lifeline… and through Remit Hope, that same act of giving can go even further.” Remit Hope exists to transform that flow into a structured, transparent, and scalable system of giving, one that connects generosity directly to impact.

The Remit Hope Team Relay brings that idea to life in a new way. In this race, teams do not just run the distance. They carry something forward. Each leg of the relay reflects a shared responsibility, a continuation of effort, and a belief that progress is never individual, but collective.

“This partnership allows us to bring the idea of giving into a physical experience,” said the Remit Hope team. “A relay race is about trust, timing, and teamwork. It mirrors how communities function and how hope is sustained. One person starts, but many carry it forward.” The 2026 race will see an expanded Team Relay category, growing from 150 teams to 250 teams, with a dedicated start and increased participation, further strengthening its presence within the overall marathon experience.

As part of the partnership, Remit Hope will:

  • Lead the branding and identity of the Team Relay category
  • Activate along the route, including exclusive transition points
  • Introduce narrative elements linking sport to philanthropy
  • Engage runners and supporters in the story of giving back

Beyond race day, the collaboration is about awareness. It positions the running community as part of a wider movement, one that connects physical endurance with social impact. From start to finish, the Remit Hope Team Relay becomes more than a race format. It becomes a reflection of how change happens, step by step, person by person, community by community. In the same way a baton moves through a team, hope moves through people. It is carried, shared, and passed on. And this time, it is carried in the shoes of philanthropy.
