If you’ve started fundraising as part of running the Econet Victoria Falls Marathon, keep asking for donations and reminding your network that you’re doing it for a great cause and need their support. Remember, they have to see it to support it!
So if you haven’t shared your project in a while, do so now via e-mail, messenger and social media, and explain to your family and friends why your charity needs their donations.
There are incredible prizes up for grabs for our top fundraisers – including a Sunset Boat cruise on the Zambezi for two!
One of our top fundraisers, Bouvy Claushuis, has raised almost $600 for Greenline Africa Trust! Check out what she has to say about fundraising…
Why did you decide to fundraise?
I had already signed up for the half marathon when I decided to start fundraising. I wanted to make a difference, even if only a small contribution. Also, this year’s campaign, Water for Elephants, really appealed to me.
How have you found online fundraising?
I didn’t realize how easy it was to start your own personal fundraising project with GivenGain. When I saw a friend’s GivenGain page I realized just how easy it was, and within a few minutes I had created my own!
Any tips for others wanting to start a fundraising project?
I asked my family and friends for donations and was surprised by how many people are enthusiastic and supportive of this initiative. I am really happy I decided to start fundraising. Running the marathon is fun, but it’s even more fun when you can help the elephants!
Thank you!
