The Vic Falls Marathon is taking place on Sunday 4 July, 2021, in Zimbabwe.

Entries will be opening in January 2021 on-line, together with final confirmation of distances, entry fees and routes for the event.

Sunday 4 July 2021, in Victoria Falls Zimbabwe.

The Vic Falls Bridge (Immigration point between Zimbabwe and Zambia) is closed on race morning to control traffic.  You should therefore stay on the Zimbabwean (Victoria Falls) side of the border.

The race starts in Victoria Falls town, see map.  Final details are provided at registration when you collect your number.

Usually it starts at 06h45, this time will be confirmed closer to race date

You may enter on-line via this website ENTRY tab.  There are different prices for different nationalities and race distances, take care to enter correctly.  You will be required to complete your passport or Zimbabwe ID information in order for us to prepare permission from Zimbabwe Immigration Authorities as the full/half marathons both cross the Vic Falls Bridge, so please ensure you have that information at hand.

You will require a credit card to enter / pay for this race.  You will be billed in ZA Rands at the prevailing ROE.

For Zimbabwean citizens who do not have access to an international credit card to pay, we will have an option to pay within Zimbabwe – details to be communicated in due course.

There is a cut-off on entries due to safety of the athletes and capacity on the route.

  • Full Marathon – 1000
  • Half Marathon – 1900
  • Fun Run – 1500
  • Half Marathon Team Relay – 100 teams of 2 runners per team

Closing date will be 31 May 2021, or sooner should capacity be reached.

Race numbers will be available for collection in Victoria Falls (venue to be advised) on Thursday 1 July / Friday 2 July / Saturday 3 July (morning).  You will need to provide proof of payment and ID/passport to collect.

No – you will need to make an arrangement to collect when Registration/Collection is open

You can but each entry must be done individually and paid for individually, you can’t do both entries for yourself and the friend at the same time.  Two separate entries and two separate payments.

The entry fees are not refundable under any circumstances. Athletes submitting duplicate entries will be charged for both.


An e-mail (if an email address is supplied) will be sent to you once your entry has been processed.  Please check your data carefully upon receipt of your entry confirmation.

Payment must be made for your entry to be accepted.  No payment = no entry = no race number.

The race is restricted to runners/walkers only.

Please refer to the age restrictions, per IAAF, for each distance.

Per IAAF guidelines.  The minimum age requirement is that an athlete must be 20 years of age on the day of the race for the 42.2km, and 18 years for the 21.1km.

Fun Run participants have to be 10 years or older, unless accompanied by an adult.


No.  Due to the fact that some of the sections on the route may have limited traffic, running with ear-phones/music is NOT allowed on any of the races.  Also, because you’re running in a nature reserve, you need to be aware of nature and the animals, you are entering their natural environment.

Yes, approximately every 4km – 5km there will be hydration points, supplying water and in some cases coke.

2021 details to follow.

The race is run under the rules of the  IAAF, which stipulate that no personal sponsors’ logos may be worn by an athlete.

Sponsored teams have to stick to the regulated size of 1 x logo per apparel items.  The logo to be no bigger than 10cm x 10cm.

Gold medals are awarded to the first 10 men and first 10 women to cross the finish line, in the 42.2km, and 21.1km categories.

Cut-off time is 6 hours for the Full Marathon.

Yes the race is timed using disposable timing chips.

Race results are effectively on live-time and will be uploaded to the website immediately.

2021 information is not yet available.

No, it’s not necessary – but we do recommend proper training as the full marathon route is considered to be tough.
