The race starts in Victoria Falls town, at Baobab Primary School, Dale Crescent, see map.  Final details are provided at registration when you collect your number.

Entries open March 2025. You can enter online here.

There is a cut-off on entries due to safety of the athletes and capacity on the route. Entries will close when race capacity has been reached as follows:

  • Full Marathon [42km] – 800
  • Half Marathon [21km] – 2800
  • Relay [10.5km x 2] – 150 teams = 300 runners
  • Fun Run [7.5km] – 1800

Collection from the Sprayview Hotel, in the ‘conference’ venue.

You will be required to bring your Zimbabwean ID/ or passport and proof of residency if SADC, and proof of payment / entry.

If you are collecting for a third party – above will be required for each athlete, together with their permission for you to collect on their behalf.

NO ENTRIES OR CHANGES ACCEPTED ON RACE DAY.

VERY IMPORTANT

  • If you envisage being late / delayed  – you must organise a friend to collect your race number for you. Make sure they bring your entry details, copy of your ID/passport and proof of payment.
  • Entry Collection will close at above times, and you will not be able to collect your number once closed.  Race numbers will NOT be available after 17h00 on Saturday, nor on race morning.

No – you will need to make an arrangement to collect when Registration/Collection is open.

The competition is open to persons of 15 years and over.

All finishers to complete the race within the cut-off time (12h30) will be awarded medals.

A baton will be provided to hand-over from first athlete to second athlete mid way.

Transport to the ‘change over point’ will be provided by the race organisers for athlete #2.

Athlete #1 once completed his/her 10.5km will need to make own arrangements to go to the finish.

The change-over point will be advised at Number Collection.

  • You will be required to bring your Zimbabwean ID/ or passport and proof of residency if SADC, proof of payment / entry to the Steward Bank Collection Desk
  • If you are collecting for a third party – above will be required for each athlete, together with their permission for you to collect on their behalf.
  • You will receive a baton along with your race numbers. DO NOT LOOSE THIS BATON as it houses your chip that will record your time.
  • The first [Starting Runner] is to keep this baton with them as they will start the Half Marathon and need to carry it and hand it over to the second runner at the transition point. Without this – you have no time.
  • Please make sure you decide in advance who is running the first 10.5km [ie from the START to the change point] and who is running the second/last section to the finish.

Race Day

  • All 2nd Runners, you will be advised at Number Collection where to meet the bus and what time (to transfer you to the change-over point)
  • Please ensure you have your Steward Bank Race Number on to allow you access onto the buses.
  • You have to be gone before the marathon runners start and block the route.
  • The Transition point you will see Steward Bank Branding and a big tent.
  • For these runners who are delivered early via the transfers, bathrooms and refreshments will be available there while you wait for your team mates to arrive
  • Please keep off the road at the transition point as the full marathon runners will come flying past way before your team mates come through. Expect your runners to arrive round 07h45 at the earliest.
  • Please note, the 2nd Runners, who will do the 2nd half into the Finish area, will receive 2 Medals [one for each team member] as they cross the line. Please make sure you give your team mate their well deserved Medal ☺
  • All Starting [1st Runners], you start with the rest of the Half Marathon Runners at 07h00 and cross the bridge and follow the route till the changeover point at the Steward Bank tent area, there you will hand over your baton to your team member who will run the rest of the route to the finish.
  • Buses will transport all first runners at regular intervals from the Transition point to the finish grounds once they have completed their respective distance.
  • There will be a toilet and refreshments available at your transition point.

Please note there will be prize giving at the Finish Area for the following categories, you have to be at the finish to get your prize:

  • First Winning Female Team
  • First Winning Male Team
  • First Mixed Team

You can but each entry must be done individually and paid for individually, you can’t do both entries for yourself and the friend at the same time.  Two separate entries and two separate payments.

The entry fees are not refundable under any circumstances. Athletes submitting duplicate entries will be charged for both.

An e-mail (if an email address is supplied) will be sent to you once your entry has been processed.  Please check your data carefully upon receipt of your entry confirmation.

Payment must be made for your entry to be accepted.  No payment = no entry = no race number.

The race is restricted to runners/walkers only.

Please refer to the age restrictions, per World Athletics and NAAZ, for each distance.

Per World Athletics and NAAZ guidelines.  The minimum age requirement is that an athlete must be 20 years of age on the day of the race for the 42.195km, and 18 years for the 21.0975km.

Fun Run participants have to be 10 years or older, unless accompanied by an adult.

No

The Vic Falls Bridge (Immigration point between Zimbabwe and Zambia) is closed on race morning to control traffic.  You should therefore stay on the Zimbabwean (Victoria Falls) side of the border.

No.  Due to the fact that some of the sections on the route may have limited traffic, running with ear-phones/music is NOT allowed on any of the races.  Also, because you’re running in a nature reserve, you need to be aware of nature and the animals, you are entering their natural environment.

Yes, approximately every 4km – 5km there will be hydration points, supplying water and in some cases coke.

Prize Monies will be taxed according to the laws of the country before payment

The race is run under the rules of World Athletics, which stipulate that no personal sponsors’ logos may be worn by an athlete.

Sponsored teams have to stick to the regulated size of 1 x logo per apparel items.  The logo to be no bigger than 10cm x 10cm.

Gold medals are awarded to the first 10 men and first 10 women to cross the finish line, in the 42.195km, and 21.0975km categories.

Cut-off time is 6 hours for the Full Marathon.

Yes the race is timed using disposable timing chips.

Race results are effectively on live-time and will be uploaded to the website immediately.

No, it’s not necessary – but we do recommend proper training as the full marathon route is considered to be tough.
