When and where will the 2026 Econet Victoria Falls Marathon take place?
Sunday 05 July 2026 in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe.
When do entries close, and is there a cut-off on race numbers?
The closing date is set for midnight 08th June 2026, or if capacity is reached beforehand we will close entries earlier due to safety of the athletes and capacity on the route.
The race capacities are as follows:
- Full Marathon [42km] – 800
- Half Marathon [21km] – 2800
- Fun Run [7.5km] – 1800
Important information for entering Zimbabwe!
When travelling to Zimbabwe, you now need to complete the arrivals form for Immigration online, the link is:

With this link, you need to register online, it starts with you being allocated a reference number for your submission and next step is to enter your own details (Full name, Passport number), here you can add other family members travelling with you, before confirming to the next step, where you confirm your Nationality. Next step is where you complete your travel information. Follow the prompts/steps to the completion. You will then receive a confirmation as free entry or required to pay a visa fee, you also receive a QR code (to use on entry) and can download an approval letter. Both QR code and letter can be submitted at your port of arrival as selected in the process.

The race starts in Victoria Falls town, at Baobab Primary School, Dale Crescent, see map. Final details are provided at registration when you collect your number.

Where do I collect my race number?
Collection from the Sprayview Hotel, in the ‘conference’ venue.
- Thursday 02 July 12h00 – 17h00
- Friday 03 July 10h00 – 17h00
- Saturday 04 July 09h00 – 16h00
You will be required to bring your Zimbabwean ID/ or passport and proof of residency if SADC, and proof of payment / entry.
If you are collecting for a third party – above will be required for each athlete, together with their permission for you to collect on their behalf.
NO ENTRIES OR CHANGES ACCEPTED ON RACE DAY.
VERY IMPORTANT
- If you envisage being late / delayed – you must organise a friend to collect your race number for you. Make sure they bring your entry details, copy of your ID/passport and proof of payment.
- Entry Collection will close at above times, and you will not be able to collect your number once closed. Race numbers will NOT be available after 16h00 on Saturday, nor on race morning.
Can I collect my race number on race day?
No – you will need to make an arrangement to collect when Registration/Collection is open.
May I enter a friend and pay for them?
You can but each entry must be done individually and paid for individually, you can’t do both entries for yourself and the friend at the same time. Two separate entries and two separate payments.
Are the entries refundable?
The entry fees are not refundable under any circumstances. Athletes submitting duplicate entries will be charged for both.
Does the Victoria Falls Marathon accept late entries?
No
How will I know if my on-line entry has been accepted?
An e-mail (if an email address is supplied) will be sent to you once your entry has been processed. Please check your data carefully upon receipt of your entry confirmation.
Payment must be made for your entry to be accepted. No payment = no entry = no race number.
Can anyone enter the Vic Falls Marathon?
The race is restricted to runners/walkers only.
Please refer to the age restrictions, per World Athletics and NAAZ, for each distance.
How old must I be to enter the Vic Falls Marathon?
Per World Athletics and NAAZ guidelines. The minimum age requirement is that an athlete must be 20 years of age on the day of the race for the 42km, and 18 years for the 21km.
Relay participants must be 15 years and older.
Fun Run participants have to be 10 years or older, unless accompanied by an adult. If younger than 10 years one adult per child to accompany (if you have 2 children under 10 years old running you will need 2 adults to supervise them).
Will I be allowed personal seconding?
No
Should I book my accommodation in Victoria Falls or Livingstone?
The Vic Falls Bridge (Immigration point between Zimbabwe and Zambia) is closed on race morning to control traffic. You should therefore stay on the Zimbabwean (Victoria Falls) side of the border.
May I wear ear-phones and listen to music during my run?
No. Due to the fact that some of the sections on the route may have limited traffic, running with ear-phones/music is NOT allowed on any of the races. Also, because you’re running in a nature reserve, you need to be aware of nature and the animals, you are entering their natural environment.
Are there water stations along the routes?
Yes, approximately every 4km – 5km there will be hydration points, supplying water and in some cases coke.
What prize money is on offer?
All 2026 Prize Money is still to be announced. 2025 Prize Money can be found at ‘2025 Prize Money‘, on the Victoria Falls Marathon website
Prize Monies will be taxed according to the laws of the country before payment
May I wear sponsor’s advertising?
The race is run under the rules of World Athletics, which stipulate that no personal sponsors’ logos may be worn by an athlete.
Sponsored teams have to stick to the regulated size of 1 x logo per apparel items. The logo to be no bigger than 10cm x 10cm.
What must I do to earn a gold medal?
Gold medals are awarded to the first 10 men and first 10 women to cross the finish line, in the 42.195km, and 21.0975km categories.
How long do I have to complete the race?
Cut-off time is 6 hours for the Full Marathon.
Is the race timed and when are the results available?
Yes the race is timed using disposable timing chips.
Race results are effectively on live-time and will be uploaded to the website immediately.
Must I qualify to compete in the Vic Falls Marathon?
No, it’s not necessary – but we do recommend proper training as the full marathon route is considered to be tough.

Specially-Abled Participants Rules
Specially-Abled athletes must be 18 yrs and older, male and female – open only to tricycles, handcycles, and wheelchair participants. Please note: all specially-abled participants are required to wear a helmet for safety.
